2012 Kia Soul brake noise

Hey Scotty, I recently acquired myself a 2012 Kia Soul as my first car, it was my grandfathers car for ten years and then he gave it to me for driving to college and whatnot.  It only has 25,000 miles on it even though it's 11 years old.  For a while now I noticed that there has been some break noise coming from the passenger side, not a screeching noise but a rubbing noise since I can hear it rub on each rotation of the wheel. My front rotors and pads look fine with plenty of life, my rear pads have life as well but the rotors themselves have lines in them (the front rotors are perfectly smooth).  This car was garage kept most of its life so I don't know why the rear rotors are scored.  Do you think it is the scoring making the noise or something else?  Is this something I need to worry about?

I would disassemble and inspect. Time to start learning.

Hey MountainManJoe, Turns out a few days after I posted that, one of my rear pads literally fell apart. So I bought all new rotors and pads and replaced them myself. First brake job I have ever done but it was pretty easy and it works perfect.

Good stuff. Thanks for reporting back.
