What do you think of a 2002 Chevy silverado truck, 4wd, automatic, private owner. Is it worth buying?
Clarification: Which model series? (I presume 1500). Which engine? Mileage? Price?

The older the better with GM trucks as a general rule. Watch out for rust if you're in the rust belt, and have that automatic transmission checked out by a mechanic. That's going to be the weakest point.

You left out some rather vital details, like how much do they want? How much on the odometer? What condition is it in? What are the results of a mechanical inspection?

If it checks out good from an independent mechanic, yes. These years are far better than the newer (post 2006) models with all the electronic crap on them and AFM.
