I have a 2000 Ford Ranger 3.0L V6 with 180,000 miles with a P1401 code. It has a slight misfire but no codes for a misfire.

It generally means it is an EGR is bad or the dpfe sensor which is a sensor that measures how the EGR valve works. Also check on the sensor. Sometimes the rubber hoses come off
