What is Techron in gas and what are the benefits and cons if there are any? I have heard rumors that Chevron claims to have Techron in their fuel. I also heard that Chevron only has a total of one gallon of Techron in an entire truckload of gas.
It contains polyether amines (PEA) which are detergents.
Claimed benefits are on their website:

cons are probably negligible, unless you're paying extra.
Yes Chevron puts it in their gas (It says so right at the pump).
If it's a strong chemical, then you don't need much. Just look at the size of the bottle they sell you for a whole tank of gas.

Techron is a marketing name for the cleaner/detergents that Chevron adds to its fuel. It also sells it in a bottle.
Most big named gas stations add some sort of cleaner/detergent to their fuel. Techron is the most recognizable brand name of the bunch, IMHO.
