It seems like vehicle safety used to mean airbags and crash test ratings and now it means is the vehicle is going to fly apart or catch fire or otherwise try to kill you! How did we get here?
We got here by people cutting corners and making cars cheap and putting in technology that is in tested out correctly before sold to the public
According to statistics, vehicle deaths have dropped... dramatically.
I'm sure mainstream media would have you believe otherwise.

Vehicle safety is just that: vehicle safety.
As time progressed, science proved air bags were a good option to add additional protection beyond seatbelts. Then came side curtain airbags, then park assist, blind spot monitoring, reverse camera, etc. and so forth.
All because people are too busy not paying attention while they drive. The new technology costs more, thus driving up prices. And the more tech, the more that can go wrong. Nature of the beast really.
