What the heck dripped off of my undercarriage?

Bought used, this 4Runner was used off-road and also had evidence of rats. If I knew that prior to purchase, I probably would have skipped on buying the car. Rat damage is nasty stuff to manage...

On the undercarriage, I used a cheap engine degreaser that had the ingredients of ecosurf, carbatol, caustic soda, trisodium phosphate and sodium metastylate pentahydrate. It was on the undercarriage for a total of 2-3 minutes. I then rinsed twice. These drippings came off at the car after I pulled it into the garage to wax it. I took care to spray tons of water on the rear skid guard and along all the nooks and crannies of the frame. The garage floor had normal garage floor grime, it was painted by the previous owner with what appears to be a latex paint.

It's like a crystalline structure there. Will I grow extra appendages or to some super gigantic size only to be inspiration for a new character in the horror monster category?

It's not really surprising. I would expect that it's one of the many chemicals in the cocktail that you sprayed on there. Or a reaction product of them. Probably the caustic soda or the TSP.

maybe they're turbo crystals
