Your choices these days at least when talking reliable (both short term and long term reliability) come down to Toyota, Honda, Mazda, and Subaru.  That assumes you are buying only and not leasing (if leasing then it opens the doors wide open).  Without any more constraints on exactly what you need, I can’t give you a more precise recommendation.

New, Quick, Cheap  - choose any two.

SUV, Reliable, Fairly New, Quick, and Cheap. 

first 3 are doable, but combined with the last 2 don't think they exist.  

I would go with a V6 Toyota or Mazda SUV if you want it to be a little Quicker and those two brands have pretty reliable vehicles that should last a long time.
