I like to buy off lease or certified used cars, but they’re almost as expensive as the new cars.
I want a hybrid Lexus and I am not sure which is best or if it’s worth buying new. Or should I buy a regular Lexus? I work 42 miles from home. This purchase need to happen in 1-2 months.thanks
If you’re after a hybrid, buy it brand new.
The price of cars is high as ever due to the chip shortage and our current market. If you need a car now, lease it. I would not recommend buying a used Lexus because of pricy bills. Used Lexus hybrids is going to make it worse.
You also didn't give much other information on what particular Lexus model but if I had to say, lease a regular Lexus ES350.
Nothing wrong with buying a used Lexus as long as you get the right one, and with lower mileage. I plan to do just that at some point in the near future (current prices have pushed me aside for now).
See my previous post below: if you plan to keep past 200,000 miles or a DIYer and like to do as much of the repairs yourself, I would get a regular Lexus. Even if not DIYer, repairs will cost less on a regular Lexus vs. hybrid.

If you are buying used, go regular, if you are going brand new then either one is good.
If you go hybrid, lease it from new and turn it in at the end of the term.
Otherwise, new or used regular Lexus cars are great vehicles.
I wouldn't recommend buying used hybrid or electric vehicles because of their batteries etc. having been used and lower life left and the expenses/costs that come with it. Lexus is Toyota's luxury brand so I would suggest looking at the same class Toyota vehicles (for example depending on if you want suv or sedan or whatever else). Lexus cars are more expensive when purchasing and also higher cost of repairs/parts.
