White Foam In Radiator Cap??

2007 Nissan maxima 130k miles,

So my car overheated yesterday at Burger King because my fans to cool my radiator stopped turning, I let my car cool down and when I first turned it back on it was shaking but after that I rode 30+ minutes home fine because i did not stop(No overheating)

Anyways, I’m changing my fans right now and I see no coolant come out of my coolant lines when I take them out,I open my radiator cap and there’s a bunch of white foam there, Does not seem like oil was leaking as I checked my oil too? What could this possibly be?

That was a mistake.

You blew the engine (head gasket). You're probably going to need a new car.

@imperator What makes you think it’s a blown head gasket? The car starts fine and runs fine. And the white foam or sludge is pure white.Im asking so I can know. And also why a new car? Wouldn’t a new head gasket be cheaper? Its a pretty simple job on this maxima

@imperator Is there any way I can post a picture here? I’ve asked a few quite a few people what this white substance is and no one knows

watch the video. If you do it yourself... maybe. If you're paying to get it done ... don't. And avoid Nissans.

instructions for posting photos is on our front page (Forum Guide)

@kelvin yah foamy. Just watch the video. Clean out the foam and run the test. Have you ever use a coolant stop leak product in this car? I understand you only had it a year, so maybe the previous owner did.
