why aren't people adding on pre-ignition oil pressure systems?

Hi Scotty,

Love you long time!

The idea of pressurizing the car's oil pressure before ignition make since to me since I was a teenager. Seems like a no brainer, but I haven't done it, yet. I'm 54!

I figure car companies don't want their engines to last twice as long. I see an aftermarket system is a $400 and when I asked a car mechanic shop owner (who also builds racecars) about adding one on my '07 Crown Vic with 80K miles, he replied I can understand one on a racecar but he kind of was skeptical about adding one on a 'daily driver'.

I'm still scratching my head.

So, I keep mulling this over while driving my wonderful Crown Vic without the add-on system 🙂

THanks, mike

It's probably not worth the added cost.I doubt it would make the engine last twice as long.
