Hi Scotty, I have a 2017 Subaru Outback Limited. It has the eyesight feature. A rock hit my windshield and it needs replaced. I got a local garage estimate for $450. An online estimate comes to $1000, which includes a $600 recalibration fee for the sensor in the windshield. Is this a bogus fee? Do all eyesight windshields need recalibration? Garage estimate is for a third party to replace the windshield.
I’m not a mechanic myself but I do remembe in Scotty videos be mentions that fixing a windshield for late model cars are more expensive because they have some sort of safety feature or technology built into the windshield and would probably need to be reprogrammed. I would look into it but that’s what I remember
But a $600 fee more expensive than the windshield itself does sound off
