Worst Modern Cars to Buy

Hello, I was wondering which cars are the worst to buy - whether they are specific brands or specific models. Don't worry - I don't plan on buying any of these. I just wanted to know your opinion and it is also good entertainment.

Just by reputation, I'd avoid Fiat and Chrysler products.  I also stay away from Nissan and Mitsubishi, because they are aligned with Renault.

Add British cars to the list. They have a very poor reputation going back decades for falling apart under American conditions. That reputation continues to this day despite none of that country's companies that mass-produce cars being British-owned any more.

German cars because they have a maintnence schedule of their own, fiat chrysler crap as Kaizen said, and American brands are pretty bad, but ford is somewhat a superior company of them. I would stick to toyota, honda, mazda, ford, lexus and acura.

don't buy the cheap american cars as well such as the ford focus and chevy cruze because the worst cars a pretty terrible company is not a good match. I would stick to chevy's 2500 silverado's and ford's f series trucks as they are of the highest quality that ford and chevy produces. The Ram 2500 cummins turbodiesels have good engines and tranny's because they aren't even made by ram, but the rest of the truck that is made my ram is just the lowest quality you can get. Realize, with American brands, you will always have recalls on silly things like seatbelts and traction systems.

If one resides in Europe: Fiat, Alfa Romeo, Renault, Citroen, Peugeot. By extension of Renault; Mitsubishi and Nissan (apart from the Qashqai)

Korean Cars, FCA, GM, English Cars (Aside from maybe Lotus, if you have the money for those), and all Italian Cars.

If you keep cars for a long time, almost everything goes on that list

As far as SUVs go, definitely the Jeep Grand Cherokee Diesel, Jeep Renegade and Fiat 500X.

I'm going to spice it up here and add specifically the 2008 Honda Accord as one of the worst. To give a brief overview of my this illustrious member is mentioning a Honda in the worst cars thread, see here.

Korean cars aren't that well made either, and one of the worst is the early-mid 2010s Hyundai Sonata. They are infamous for engine failures and blowing up.
