I have a ZF8 transmission in my 2018 RAM 1500 with 63K miles on it. I bought the truck when it was 16 months old with 26K miles on it. Given the condition of the truck, I don't think it was worked hard by the original owner. I have used it for nothing more than a passenger vehicle during my ownership and it's driven very conservatively. Scotty always says the "lifetime" transmission fluid claims by manufacturer are bull$#*$# and I agree. At 63K, I'm thinking it's probably time to do a drain/fill. Any recommendations for a mechanic in middle TN area that could that could do it?
It's an easy job, do it yourself if you can. Then you'll know it's been done right.
I agree Doc - but my current housing situation doesn't provide for a place to do such work.
Then try to find an honest, independent (not a dealership) mechanic to do it for you. Good luck!
