| If you plan to keep the vehicle for as long as possible and get as much mileage as possible out of it, go with the Honda Civic. GM quality has been steadily going downhill for a while now and best to stay away from them, especially out of warranty. GM already had issues with their own 8-speed AT, so I don’t have high hopes for the longevity of their 9-speed AT also designed by then (which also had issues): Also, those 3 cylinder engines are all-new for GM cars here in North America and so you would be a guinea pig for them if you buy it (and they are not even paying you to test for them 🙂 ). Plus with 3-cylinders turbo charged under all that pressure they will wear out sooner. To mitigate the oil dilution in the turbocharged Civics see below: | |||||

| I wold buy the Civic, however while at the Honda dealership look at the CRV as well. Please social distance yourself from any GM or Fiat Chrysler dealership | |||||

| Do not buy it, I would never in a million years. So if you want a smaller SUV, I'd go with a Toyota C-HR or a RAV4 if you want to go for a bigger vehicle. They are both much better made compared to modern GM products! If you do want to buy one used, make sure you have a scan tool (I have a BlueDriver), or if you don't make sure a good mechanic checks them out first if you do go used. | |||||

| Is it like RPM fluctuations? GM released a TSB sometime ago for Throttle body position sensor be replaced or upgraded. You can also clean out MAF and if you really wanted to cheap out with everything, disconnect the battery to "reset" things, it should work if it is TBPS. | |||||
