| Answer to: I can only buy my dream luxury vehicle ONCE | 11Relevance | 6 years ago | NJRonbo | Submit Your Question HERE | |
| Leasing is absolutely the way to go! You get a new car every three years. However, I have already discussed the problem with leasing... To get into a loaded luxury vehicle that costs (let's say) $80k, you need to put down $10k just to get the payments in the $800-$900 range. Now, I took those figures off of BMW's website after putting together a loaded MX5, which I am not even interested in. Buying a vehicle gets me out of car payments. Leasing a loaded vehicle means putting down a ton of money to get a low monthly rate. And it seems to me I could probably do that for 9 years (3 consecutive 3-year leases) before I pay what I would for that car outright and I still would not own it. Of course, I hear about these no-money-down leases but I never see them. I don't even think I can get a no-money-down on a loaded vehicle. Audi, I believe has a $700 per month subscription that includes car insurance. That's not quite the worst deal I have seen. I always get taken on leases. They are harder to understand. I have thought about paying a car broker to help me with a lease which may be a good investment. Maybe you guys can help me figure out how to survive a lease on a $65-$80k vehicle. It doesn't seem like the value is there compared to buying a new vehicle outright. However, of course, if I buy the car I am married to it. | |||||

| My dude your going about this all wrong. Why buy an ultra expensive money pit car when you can lease it like you've been doing? You've already been on the right path don't steer away now just because you have some bucks saved up. Lease something nice and then you don't have to worry about any of the usual things that go wrong with cars like that! | |||||

| I have a 2007 Lexus RX 350 with 309,000 miles on it. The car runs like a dream! The only thing that concerns me is the squeaking and squawking of chassis . I’ve changed the bushings and struts on the front. No one can find any problems. Worry? | |||||
| Should I change my transmission fluid? | 8Relevance | 1 year ago | matthewscarbrough | Submit Your Question HERE | |
| I bought a 2014 Lexus IS350 f sport used with 196k miles on it for a steal. Everything works like a dream and both owners took great care of it -- it looks like brand new. It had its 90k service done at 105k miles. Should I change the fluid at 200k and then every 60k miles or leave it and save up money to rebuild the transmission in a few years when it goes out as a "fun" side project? Thank you! | |||||

I’ve done all the resets i.e throttle body/MAFS cleaning. OBD’s are P0131/P0132. Symptoms: an aggressive “belt squeal & Hot Engine shake at hwy speeds, complete loss of responsiveness, heavy pedal/turbo activation just to accommodate cruise control, cannot overtake other vehicles safely) Once fully warmed up it has this “nails on a chalkboard/dying pig squeel from hell unaffected by braking, belt clutch usages, or ...

But I must say, the single most unhelpful reply I received was Scotty's (saying that because the car is junk, I should just drive it into the ground - or words to that effect.)
| Low mile no mile car - good purchase? | 8Relevance | 4 months ago | JackedBrew906 | Submit Your Question HERE | |
| Hey scotty my name is Jack. I’m 26 years old from Michigan and recently bought one of my semi-tiered dream vehicles being a Subaru station wagon from the first / second generation with low miles no miles slogan. I recently bought a 2007 Subaru Forester rust free with a manual at 19,300 miles here in my state after looking for a unicorn for the last two months across the U.S. This one however was for sale 3 miles away from where I lived and after a pre purchase inspection, it was found via 3rd party mechanic shop that it needed ball joints and axle seals. | @imperator Maybe? haven't noticed any change in braking or anything. Well I am taking the car tomorrow to my trusty mechanic and hopefully we'll be able to pin point the actual problem that causes this. Hopefully I won't have to take the car apart. But if I'll have to I'll do it. I'm not planning to part with my dream car that easy. | |||||

| @scottykilmer You're predictions were definitely correct about electric vehicles being a pipe dream. The professor estimates it would cost an additional 6 trillion dollars to build out the infrastructure to support electric vehicles. He also talks about to some folks in the government want to reduce the number of car owners by increasing the cost of cars because they think that will save the environment. | |||||
| Stuck hydraulic lifter or bent valve | 8Relevance | 2 years ago | AmirAmkec | Submit Your Question HERE | |
| Hi Scotty , Ill keep it short. I already asked about ignition coil problems , changed but its not that. Car is Opel Astra 1.4 66kw petrol with 193 000 kilometers (Europe). Car starts like mad , no compression issues. Accelerates like dream but when at idle speed and temperature you can feel vibration-shakey knocking sounds but nothing like rod knock, detonation or pre ignition. Took it to a mechanic, no error codes but he assume that it could be bent/burned valve or problems with hydraulic stuck lifters. How can I check this and what to look for ?? ... | |||||

Started her up and the car runs amazing with the new sensors, and I put new spark plugs in, but I noticed the engine was moving alot still, so I knew the other two engine mounts must be shot as well. After replacing all the mounts (which were disintegrated, im surprised the engine didnt fall out of the car going over a speed bump) the engine is solid and runs like a dream. | ... and I’ve been going back and forth hard. The Tundra is a 2021 with the 5.7L 3UR-FE V8 and about 30,000 miles. It has good service history and feels like a really clean, low-mileage example. I absolutely love driving it. The power, comfort, build quality, road presence, and V8 character are all huge positives. It feels more solid, more substantial, safer, and more enjoyable than the Tacoma. It is honestly my dream truck. I know the 5.7 V8 and 6-speed automatic have a great reputation, and very confident that the truck could go 300k–400k+ miles with good mai ...
