Greetings Scotty
I own a 2001 Toyota Corolla CE with ~195,000 miles. It has the 1ZZ-FE engine, a 3 speed automatic transmission with no overdrive and eats oil for breakfast. It also makes a fluttering noise, Only on acceleration as if there’s an air leak, but I can’t seem to locate where it would be. Most corolla forums say that it’s an exhaust donut, but I’m not sure. Is there any hope of stopping or slowing oil consumption and what is the cause of the fluttering noise? Thank you!

not really, but you can try some oil system cleaner in hopes it will loosen up the piston rings which helps a bit, and put a fresh PCV valve in.
what is the cause of the fluttering noise?
Hard to say from the vague description; it could be a lot of things. Exhaust leak maybe. Does you hear it when you rev the engine in Park? Post a video.
