Good morning from Canada.
01 Silverado 4.8l, RWD, - 525,000 km - very tough to start when warm - approximately after running 30 minutes. Unfortunately, I had overheated the engine and had glycol in the oil, confirmed by oil analysis. Has a new fuel pump - Carter, new heads and gaskets. LT fuel trims (both banks) are around 10%, with ST Fuel Trims at 2 - 3 %. I had code P0452 Evap System pressure low - replaced fuel tank pressure sensor. Just a thought - is the Camshaft Pos. Sensor failing? Given the engine overheating... no code yet - if to be replaced, do I need to do a relearn? Any thoughts are welcome as to the issues causing this.
Thank you!!
Wow, I would start by doing a wet and dry compression test of the engine. It overheated you change the heads but who knows what kind of shape the block is in. I would start there because if it has a mechanical problem in the engine nothing else will fix it. Other than replacing the whole engine. Now if the pressures are good both wet and dry i would put on a fancy scan tool and I would analyze all the data that's coming out of the computer to see what's wrong. So many things can go wrong. When you rebuild dads and stuff it would make your head spend sensors wiring. You name it. Couldn't be the cams aren't a line correctly
