I am looking at a 01 Toyota Celica GT. It is at 200k mileage; do you guys think it will last? I heard the engine weren't built as well in the GTS. They are asking for 3k, yall think its worth it?

No. Considering the age and mileage, I would not consider that car at all and if you add the asking price to the equation, the whole thing becomes ridicules.

I would not buy unless you have all of the maintenance and repair records for the past 22 years verifying that all manufacturer recommended maintenance service was performed and at the proper mileage intervals (for example; oil and filter changes every 5,000 miles, transmission fluid and timing belt changes, etc.). Additionally, you would need to have a qualified independent mechanic give it a thorough inspection. But even a skilled and knowledgeable mechanic cannot see inside of the engine or transmission.

Even then, this model Celica has had it's share of complaints and problems, especially with the engine as you mentioned. You might want to hold on to your hard-earned $3,000 and apply that towards a newer vehicle with less mileage.

Well that's pretty much what they go for. It's an older car. It's 22 years old so you probably going to have to do some kind of work on it but as long as it's not rusted out if you live up north they can be fun cars
