Is it a good idea to buy a Acura rsx type s? I’ve wanted one for around a year and now they are hard to find in good condition. Anyone have experience with the k20 with what to look for and also other things to look for?
If you can find one, these high performance versions are usually beat to death, but good luck. At least they come with a 6 speed, manual trans.
Agree with @Doc. Have not seen any of these that weren't trashed and/or had accident history.
I know 3 people who had them. They beat them to death. It's going to be difficult to find one that wasn't beaten and taken good care of. See if you can find 1 that is 1 owner, very low mileage and in superb condition. That is a good sign the person loved there car, garage kept and taken care of. Still need someone to do a deep dive who knows those car intimately.
Yeah it’s hard to find one without accidents now and if I do find one they would be like 15k with todays market. Saw one with 2 reported accidents and 180k miles and they were asking 7k
If it was well maintained and not driven like crazy, AMAZING vehicles. The K Engine is pretty resilient, but if they are abused, even the most resilient engines will have a tough time.
