I have a 2002 dodge neon and when i turn on the front defroster the car starts idling weird...but when i shut defroster off....it goes bad to idling fine. whats the deal??

When you turn on the defroster, it automatically activates the AC compressor which is apparently loading up the engine. I would suspect a bad AC compressor. Also, sometimes on these older (20 years) cars, there is a kicker solenoid on the throttle plate that is supposed to push the throttle open a little when the AC is activated to compensate for the load. I don't know if your vehicle has this but it's a possibility. If it doesn't have one, the car's computer is supposed to take care of this function.
