Hi scotty I have a 2003 chevy silverado 1500 with a v8 5.3 vortec and I have a p0157 code that will go off for a week and come back on then go off a few days later and been doing this for the past year and I can't find the problem

This is a faulty rear heated 02 sensor, bank 2. The heating element in the 02 sensor has probably burnt out. AutoZone #350-34581 - $46.99. Unbolt the old one, screw in the new one, done.
I all ready try replacing it it started doing again 2 weeks later

Then check your wiring and connectors for corrosion and melting.

I don't know what brand you bought but some vehicles are really sensitive and will only work with OEM sensors.
