- There is an oil leak on a sensor right above the oil filter. Much of the oil has leaked out of the crankcase. No warning lights came on, no overheating. Dip stick has the red coolant on it, but didn't notice anything because everything runs fine. Would that sensor being defective, cause coolant to get into the oil?

Red coolant on the dipstick indicates that coolant has gotten into the oil and shows a blown or ready to blow head gasket.
Thanks for your response.
Initially that's what I thought, but upon further investigation, somehow, coolant dripped down the dipstick, gave the appearance it was in the oil. Drained the oil, no coolant. Turns out, just needs the oil pressure sensor replaced.
Excellent, very fortunate for you.
