05 ford f150 rear end thumping noise

I just replace my second used rear end in my 2005 F150 with 4 wheel drive. The oem rear end went out at around 98,000 miles, had a used one put in and it lasted 116,000. So I installed another used  one in last week, it sounds good ,no howling but at 40 mph to 45 mph with slowing speeding to 45 . I hear and feel a thumping noise in the rear end. I am not sure if it is the rear end or trans or the the driveshaft. I hope you can help me out or to let me know what I should do next.  Thank you

have you opened it up?

no . If you could believe what they told me thatit was a good rear end. I bougth it from Quality Auto Parts out of Austin Tx. If I would open it up what I be looking for?

just anything that isn't right or jumps out at you.
Damage like burrs, chipped or badly scored teeth. Shavings in the fluid, heat bluing, slop in the movement, loose bolts, etc.

.

I've heard of Ford rear ends that weren't assembled properly. The carrier bolts fell out and were rattling around inside the axle housing.

do I rule out the drive shaft? or the yolk ? would I be able to find shavings if they had drain and clean the insides of the rear end? If I don't see shavings i'll use a magnet .How can I tell than the bearing is bad from the u joint into the rear end?

no don't rule out anything. Check it all.

Thank you I will be working on it tomorrow night
