Hey scotty, been a fan/subscriber for a solid few years at this point, now I know how you feel about nissan etc. But I'm just looking for some advice, I'm 24, and about to purchase the car from my dad. He acquired it because his wife bought it being "nice" for someone, which never held up to their end of the bargin. So she was stuck with it. My dad only wants 600 for the car. Is that an ok thing to do? It's got 210000 on the clock and honestly for it being so old it's not too beat up, I have to add... I've noticed it does appear to have a slight oil leak coming from the valve covers. I work at express oil and tires in Alabama. So I am around parts. And a couple solid mechanics as well.. and no rust to be found so is basically is it worth buying man??

For $600 if it runs and drives OK it's hard to go wrong. If it lasted just six months you'd still be ahead of the game. Just don't put a lot of money into it. I'd drive the thing until something expensive breaks and then dump it.
That generation Altima is probably the last great Altima by Nissan. It is the final generation before the switch to CVT. Renault barely got its hands on Nissan when this car was in development.
