[Solved] 1994-2004 SN95/ New Edge Mustang Project Advice

Hello Everyone,

I posted a few months back in regards to seeing if getting a companion SN95/ new edge era Cobra/Mach 1 would be a good buy to go along with daily driver. She is a 40th anniversary 3.9 V6 2004 mustang with 107K miles. Previously I got a wonderful response from a Ford master mechanic on this forum, advising me to keep it and take care of it which I have, and continue to do so. Now I am looking for some advice on the do`s and don'ts when it coms to restoring a salvage title mustang from that same era. My reasoning: I avoid the overpriced car market on the west coast, I save money, still get what I want, and learn a lot along the way. I have 2 Pic-A-Part junkyards here in Las Vegas with lots of spare parts and wide selections. One is located in north Las Vegas, and the other is in Henderson. Even if the advice is harsh I still want to know your stances on how viable this situation may be.

Glad you are enjoying the project. If you got the space I would keep extra body panels and such since the end goal I presume would be for the thing to be mint, also helps with experimental things you want to do or try or if your salvage happens to have one panel that is only Bondo(ask me how I know lol) Doing that you won't have to worry as much as well if they get rare in the future, for my market (e30) it went from alright m3 $15k to unobtainable in the span of a year. If it does blow up you just don't want to get caught in that since it jacks up the price of everything else. Might seem a bit presumptuous to some but I would now if I knew the state the market was gonna be for mine.

Noted. also thank you so much for sharing your story good sir. I am trying to build up the best GT trim or better for the era described.
