I found a 2005 Nissan Sentra SE-R Spec V (manual transmission) with around 90k miles.
It seems like a good car to me but I’ve heard horrible things about those 2.5L i4 engines (burning oil, blown head gaskets, etc)
Would it be a good deal for $2400 ?

I wouldn't touch it. You are right about the 2.5 engine, everything from bits of the catalytic converter getting ingested into the engine to studs and bolts getting ingested into the engine all of which destroys the engine. Also, 2005 is after Renault took over Nissan, although it was only a few years after. For $2,500 you could buy a much better car.
