I have an 06 Chevy Impala LTZ. Last Friday AM, I started it up after a -30 below zero wind chills from the night before. It made a sound like the power steering had no fluid. I checked and it was full. I drove it around for a good 30 minutes until the sound stopped.
I went back out 2 hours later to make run to the grocery store. And all the power steering fluid had leaked out.
I put a new rack and hose on over the Summer.
The pump makes no sound even when it has no fluid.
Could it be the pump, rack, or hose?
Thanks!!
Could it be the pump, rack, or hose?
yes
Get underneath and find out.
It is hard to tell in this car. I had the rack and all the hoses replaced in July, Just not the pump. My concern was that while it is out of fluid it is not making any noise
