I have had this code 2 times in 3 weeks now. So I am trying to make a list of what to do before replacing the cat itself.

1. Clean MAF?

2. PCV replacement?

-- Note: I just put new plugs and coils and a new new air filter... so...

Ideas are appreciated. I watched Scotty's video on lacquer thinner + the soap cleaning treatment and have not proceeded with either.

Thanks in advance!

Before replacing the cat, make sure you don't have leaks in the exhaust and the oxygen sensors (especially the downstream) works fine.

Cleaning the MAF sensor and change the PCV valve is a good idea. Do you have issues with oil burning or running rich? It is too early for the cat goes in your case. You should find the issue first.
