Hi Scotty,
What is the reason why you start up your car and put it in drive And it started vibrating or Shaking ?

Assuming the engine is running OK check the engine and transmission mounts.

my beater car does that, have been told by two different mechanics to have the motor mounts checked

If it’s not the mounts & it shakes with your foot on the brake, while in D, it can be your torque converter (assuming it’s a TC automatic).
