Has anyone removed the vibration dampener-guibo on a Jeep liberty rear driveshaft? I replaced the U joints a year ago and barely got them in from the driveshaft being so rusted out and since the nickel plating is worn on the slip yoke causing clunking I decided to purchase a new driveshaft with yoke and transfer the vibration dampener from the old driveshaft to the new one. Do I need a puller to remove it? Does it have to be balanced to the new driveshaft?
Every week this Jeep is breaking down, oxygen, crankshaft and camshaft sensors, starters, front wheel hubs, brakes, calibers, dust shields, ignition switch, transmission mount, that's just in the last six months lol
Haha welcome to the Jeep life. Inherited a ‘12 Liberty. Luckily it’s RWD, original motor blew at 60k, replaced under warranty. It’s been a few years now and The replacement motor has been running strong so far. But the electronics are starting to go out here and there. Blower motor went horn doesn’t work, driver side door handle busted but that’s what you get with FCA. I’d get rid of the thing and find something else. They don’t even make them anymore and are worthless.
Every time I rebuild the u joints on a drive shaft, I get them balanced at a drive line shop.
