Hello, my Tahoe slipped out of drive omw home from work a ways back. It just started revving up and slowing down.
I put it in 4wd and regained forward motion. It's been like that since, except one time.
I had unhooked the battery for about an hour. My buddy had recommended this to me.
When I hooked it back up, I disengaged the 4wd and WOW! I was driving in rear wheel drive again!
Amazing, until about three quarters of a mile later when the engine started revving and the speed was dropping off again
Probably been like 3 months I've been in 4wd.
Any recommendations are appreciated.
Thank you Scotty!

Miles? Has trans been serviced (fluid filter) in the past?
@hillbilly
It has about 183k, and I'm unfortunately not in the know if the fluid or filter have been replaced prior to my purchasing it.
@hillbilly
Also, in 2wd, it now drifts in park?
That amount of miles on that trans and knowing the trans, a rebuild will do you wonders. And the sooner, the better as less potential damage to case, etc. Assuming of course 180k on that trans... and don't change filter/fluid as 90%+ it will cause more problems,
Thank you
