I have a 2006 trailblazer 4.2 inline 6 vortec with automatic transmission. I recently filled it with gas and it immediately started missing really bad and the engine light started flashing. I took it to a mechanic and he said he couldn't figure out what the problem was and that he suspected the computer was bad. He said he found the following codes P0136, P0230, P0300, P0449. Fuel pressure is 58-60.
He told me I needed to take it to someone else. I took it home and found that the gas had water in it. I got all the gas out. refilled it with hi octane and put a bottle of gas treatment in it. However I don't know what to do about it still missing and the engine light still flashing. please help.
Thanks
Keith
Usually the light will flash when multiple components like the o2 sensors or injectors are throwing codes.
Hopefully you didn't drive it much otherwise you may have cooked something.
If you indeed flushed out all of the water out & it seems to be running fine, clear all the codes then see if any return once all the monitors no longer read "inc".
Any codes popping up after that will lead you to what may have failed.
Did you happen to file a complaint with the local weights & measures department? Say the gas station was selling garbage gas/not checking the tanks for water content and you can prove when & where you purchased it along with a print out from that mechanic, the station could be held responsible for damages.
