06' Tundra - Keep or Not - Question

Scotty,

I love watching your show. I'm a big fan.

I have a 06' Tundra SR5 double cab, V8, sealed automatic transmission with a cooler, NOT 4x4 with 260,000 mi that I bought brand new from the dealer.  This is my first Toyota truck ever. Best truck I ever owned and easy to work on. I do all my own regular maintenance to the truck and it still runs fine, no problems.

Cringe statement for you - I have NEVER changed the transmission fluid in the truck every. The reason I did this is because my father who is now 80 years old said every time in the past that he changed the transmission fluid on his past Fords & Cheve vehicles he would have transmission problems a couple of thousand miles later. He consider himself lucky to get 150K miles out of those vehicles with the transmission. (but then again he has never owned a Toyota) I currently do not have any transmission problems. I change all the other fluids in the truck at their timed intervals but just not the transmission.

Question: Would you change the transmission fluid with this many miles on a truck that has never had the fluid ever changed before?
Do you recommend having transmission fluid changed or flushed?

What kind of mileage can you get out of a truck like mine?
How much longer would you keep it?
I am seeing a little transmission fluid seepage but not enough to make a spot on the ground.

I like my truck a lot and don't really want to part with it but, if you think it's on its way out I trust your judgment. What are your thoughts?

Drain and refill the transmission fluid. Do not flush it. Your truck can last at least 300k miles.

When was the last time you changed the timing belt? Remember it has an interference engine.

I replace it myself at 215K. The original was replaced at 100K.
