Hey Scotty! I have a family of 6 that we cart around in a 2007 Honda Odyssey with 206,000 miles. We're coming up on the time for a water pump/timing belt swap and the car is shuddering most times when I apply brakes. We are tempted to move on to a newer model, a 2021 Toyota Sienna, for the MPG and current safety features etc. We put about 20k miles on our van a year. I know you say to hold on to cars, but I was just wanting your opinion on this new Toyota Hybrid family hauler and longevity of our oldish Odyssey. Thanks!
Kind of a tough question because unfortunately, Honda Odysseys are infamous for terrible automatic transmissions. Plus, the new Sienna is a hybrid and it’ll break at higher mileage and it’ll be expensive to fix. If you can find a used Sienna that’s not a hybrid at a reasonable price and is in good condition, it can last a while if maintained.
