So I've got a 2008 Pontiac grand prix base model v6 that has the trouble code p0446, I have to turn the key to the "on" position without starting it to run the fuel pump at least 3 times or else the engine will not start on the first attempt, otherwise it will turn over and sputter multiple times before giving up. The car also smells like gasoline when it's been running, what could the problem be?

Get a new EVAP control solenoid.
