Scotty, I have an 08 Tacoma TRD OFF Road crew cab. I had in to the dealer for service. They told me I need an alignment. Told them to go ahead. They came to me later saying the Hexit nuts were rusted on and needed replaced,that they couldn't do the alignment. They want $260 to cut off the nuts and chase the threads. Plus $80 for the alignment. It does pull slightly to the left. Your thoughts.
hard to say without seeing what you're talking about. $80 is normal for alignment.
$260 SEEMS like a lot for the nut but, again, I have no idea what we're dealing with.
Post a photo or get a quote from a different shop.
I would take it to a good front end alignment shop - the dealer always charges way too much for any kind of service. Once the nuts get removed, the threads can be inspected - they may just need cleaning with a metal wire brush to remove any lose rust from the threads.
