09 Focus excessive rattling

The reason I ask this is because I know there are quite a few Focus owners here on the forum..

One of the many Fords in the driveway is a 2009 Focus SE Sedan, with 280,000 miles. The car has been absolutely bulletproof, and even though it is nearing the end of its life, I still love it. After 9 years (Got it used with about 40K miles) of commuting 80-100 miles a day, it still does a local daily commute. The only problem I have with the car is it sounds like a maracca. Every little thing rattles, wether its the dash, vents, steering column, etc. And you probably will loose fillings sitting at idle for long periods of time... Honestly, after driving for a week in a 17 RAV4 I'm going deaf driving this thing... Anyone got any great ideas for reducing this? I can't complain, all I have done is an oil change every 3K miles, occasional new drums and disks, and a new starter coil at 200K and it has gotten me 280K miles without burning any oil. That being said, it has a few issues, like a minor leak in the valve cover gasket, broken coolant resivoir tank mount, broken headlight mounts on both sides, etc.

Summary: I have a beater 09 Focus that sounds like a maracca, and I don't want to put much money into it... Any tips?

Thanks brothers. Have a blessed day.

I've got a 2008 with 220k, same problem. I have noticed that the hood support rattles a lot so I put electrical tape on the pivot point to keep it from rattling but the rest I have the same problem. I'm curious to try something like a turtle Wax in a spray bottle. Wax does a good job with keeping things from rattling and they have a product that comes in a spray bottle. If I get around to try and I'll let you know if it works
