- I have a 2009 malibu 3.5 i changed my alternator n now the car does nothing when i turn the key only dummy lights turn on i have a feeling i have a short even my blue driver does not read the car

I would go over the job and make sure everything was done correctly.

Something isn't re-installed correctly, or you have a bad alternator out of the box
