Hey Scotty, what do you think about D4D Rav4 diesels?
Here in Eastern Europe it's hard to even find a gasoline Rav4.
Is it worth buying a diesel one?
If yes, what year is best, without counting newer ones for budget reasons? So from 2006 through 2013. What mileage range should I look for?

Like yaser said Toyota is good at making diesels especially in their Corolla/Rav4 vehicles and it could last a long time, if it was cared for.
I believe Toyota makes decent diesels and there is nothing wrong to buy a 10 years old car that was checked completely by an honest mechanic.
AD series of diesels had some problems. Make sure they were fixed under TSB (Click for more info).Toyota does not make them anymore. 1.6 and 2.0 D4D are now BMW N47 engines for last few years. Be leery about timing chain issues.
