Picked up a new 2026 Toyota Tundra with the iMax hybrid engine.
The dealer claims I can go 10,000 Miles between oil changes because it's a synthetic 0W20 oil. I cried BS right there in the office, but they claim 10,000 is the standard.
Already did a change a 5,000 which I think was stretching it.
I'm in Michigan and never going to wait 10,000 miles, but wondering if 5,000 might be pushing it. I'd like this thing to last longer than I do.

This has been covered many times here and in Scotty's videos. 5000 miles or one year, whichever comes first, is the recommendation for longest engine life.:
That's in normal use. Severe service, such as long periods idling, towing heavy trailers, etc. may require more frequent changes. Here's an engine that failed in about 13,000 miles from sludge due to excessive idling and no oil changes:
I'd like this thing to last longer than I do.
Not likely with any new vehicle sold today unless you're about 90 years old. Some are worse than others of course but they are all overly-complex and heavily compromised mainly to comply with regulatory requirements.
