13 Honda Civic Si Alternator Replacement/Install

I installed a new alternator from AutoZone (Duralast) and now my car was throwing off all kinds of codes.  I assume the alternator they provided me was bad, so I’m getting another one from OReilly’s (Ultima).  Do you think I need a new battery or alternator?  I am going to replace both.  But also, what is the easiest way to replace the alternator?  Do you have any tricks or suggestions?

Have the alternator tested BEFORE you leave the store.  Make sure it has a lifetime, limited warranty.  Disconnect the battery BEFORE replacing the alternator.

So I used a multimeter and the batter reads at 14.6 and when the car is on it read 12.26. As soon as the alternator was replaced the abs, vsa, check brake system light comes on and then throws off the other codes as well. What is the cause. Am I able to drive the vehicle?

Have the codes deleted, then check it again.

Why assume?

The car is OFFERING you info via codes.

So read the codes!
