Hi Scotty, I have a 2006 lotus elise with 15,000 miles on it. It has a Toyota 2zz-ge engine with a 6 speed manual transmission.
Damage was done to the valve train and crank timing gear during an over rev.
The Cylinder head was rebuilt with new, valves, guides, springs, retainers, seals and was polished and ported.
Also we replaced the water pump, oil pump, crank gear, timing chain, timing chain guides, timing tensioner, and VVT solenoid.
It runs good but codes P0011 , not letting the engine use the high cam.
We have already double checked the mechanical timing, cam phaser, electrical voltages, and grounding.
Do you have any ideas on what to check next? Before the over rev there were no codes in the system.
Thanks in advance for any help!

FWIW there are a lot of those engines in Toyotas out there, a some of of them autocrossing and such. You can find discussions of over reving 2zz-ges, maybe there's some good info for you. If not, at least there seem to be warmed up engines for sale.
