[Solved] Should I turbocharge my '13 Scion tC?

So, I want to mod a Scion tC but I don't want to make any sever mistakes to the drivetrain. I'm thinking of putting a turbo on it, and the rest is cosmetic. Thoughts? Thank you!

I'd at least do exhaust also.  And set waste gate low so you don't run much boost without further strengthening the engine.

100% agree with above answers on turbos and personally would only have them on play cars, not my daily.

I agree with @BruceREE .Depending on the mileage and health of the engine, you might need to rebuild the engine to get the most out of your modification. Although you should consider that it results in more wear in your engine too.

What is your definition of a severe mistake? If you looking to turbo, good for you, it's fun and in a TC you will definitely have more fun with the car. The cost being that any turbo or supercharger will cause excess strain to the drivetrain no matter what you do, unless you really custom rebuild it to handle "x" amount of power, but then that's like headers and positions, cam, and whatnot. Plenty of people run turbos on their toyotas and honda and not have a problem. So I'm not saying you HAVE TO build your engine. Just note that there will be more strain on the OEM drivetrain especially if you drive the car hard, (drag days, track or the whatnot). And more maintenance to ensure that things run smoothly. Have fun! 🙂
