It's likely that the 175 amp fuse on your battery cable is damaged/faulty. Replace it. You can get a generic one at the auto parts store for around $5 or an original KIA OEM for about $20.

If it caused yet another alternator to fry, this time get an OEM alternator from KIA AFTER you replace that fuse and have the alternator and battery wires carefully inspected for damage and you should be fine.

Most likely the engine will blow up and you won't have to deal with it anymore. 2011 is the worst year for Kia/Hyundai as the quality went downhill for a new generation of vehicles made in US factories.

Electrical problems are the top of the cake for those. I think you should invest in a bike or a bus pass instead.

What do you expect out of a ten year old Korean econo-box?

I would check/test the charging system (including battery/alternator) yourself.  Scotty shows you how;  it’s not that hard.  Also, I would stop going to those mechanics as they are not competent.  Find a better mechanic (see under our FAQ for how to find one).
