I have a 2013 f150 5.0 with auto tranny. I bought the truck with 90k miles and have 130k on it now. I haven't changed the tranny fluid yet and not sure if the previous owner did either. I'm not having any problems with the tranny now. Is there a way to look at the pan and tell if someone has had it off before? Is it too late to change the tranny fluid without having problems?

Draw a small sample of the fluid. If it looks gritty, leave it be. I'm not familiar with that transmission, though. It might have a dipstick on the actual transmission, but maybe not. I know my 2017 Mustang has a dipstick on the tranny. Transmission fluid is only designed to last around 60,000 miles.
