Greetings! Have above mentioned Cruze. Had lost about 40% of power. Discovered bad turbo; vanes were chipped and lot of slop in impeller. Lot of black smoke. Replaced turbo. Gained some performance back. On further diagnosis discovered bad MAF sensor. Cleaned w MAF cleaner, but ended up replacing it and air intake too. No more black smoke, but still has no real power on any kind of incline. Have to floor it for a climb
purchased a scanner Innova 5610. Getting a DTC U0100 lost comm with ECM. Could I have somehow damaged ECM or is there something else I can check
Did you use an OEM/good quality turbo? Was it installed correctly? Have you performed a compression test of the engine?
U codes don’t surprise me on GM products..
I replaced with a similar Garrett turbo. Was a pretty simple R&R so I don't see how I might have messed that up.
No I haven't done a compression check. May have to take it to a diesel mechanic
Did the old turbo shed parts? If it did, it may have thrown FOD right through the system..
Just some small chips off end of few vanes. Was fortunate that it was caught before turbo went full destruct. Don't think it was enough FOD to have caused any issues.
