I'm looking at an 18 corolla rebuilt title, 19k miles. Seller bought at auction replaced front bumper cover, headlight. He showed me pics/video at auction before repair. Condenser/rad/sensors look good. My scan tool broke so I can't check obd. No check engine light after startup. Starts, runs, interior, wipers, lights,ac,heat, shifts, turns, lock to lock, high/low speed perfect. Body lines straight, doors/windows open/close. No sign of flood or airbag deployment.Only issue is airbag dash light. Won't pass PA enhanced insp With that. What's worst case scenario on airbag repair?
Auction car buying doesn't seem smart for a car that you will use often.
Don't buy a rebuilt title car unless as a project and not a daily. Potential problems and no return later when trade. So a gamble on maintenance issues that will very likely pop up.
