My dad has a 2004 f 250 superduty fx4 v8 230k miles not sure what liter, my father uses it as a work truck and hardly ever changes the oil, last oil change was a while ago, he used penzole 5w 20 full synthetic, and we bought the penzole high mileage 5w 20 synthetic blend, will it make or break the engine if the oil is changed and if it's a different type of oil as well, thanks.

use the same oil and how long ago did he change the oil last

No, changing oil is good. Full syn SN+. But use the recommended weight per use/environment.
