Was the 1975 Plymouth Road Runner really that terrible of a car from a reliability standpoint?

Rust would be the worst issue with those. Engines and transmissions were still from the era where those items from Chrysler were well-designed and I think '75 is prior to their awful lean-burn system.

Obviously it can't be that bad if it's going to have it's semicentennial birthday in a few years. See if it makes it to 100.

People used to drive these every single day and not think twice about it. It's just older now. it will get fairly lousy mileage. As long as you don't run it through the salt it should be fine.
