05 Sequoia 212k maint required light

Hi Scotty or whoever. I just bought an 05 Sequoia SR5 w/212k miles. Hardly broke in! The tire pressure monitor light is flashing so I'm sure the batteries are dead on the rims. The maintenance required light came on yesterday so I'm thinking it's tied to that. I have a tire gauge so I don't care about the pressure system. I went by O'Reilly Auto Parts to scan for codes. There were none. I saw on YouTube about connecting/splicing 2 peticular wires together under/behind the glove box to "fake" the computer into thinking they are good. Is that OK to do? I don't want to mess anything up. If not, is there a way to clear the warning lights if that's what it is? If something else happens that would trigger the maintenance required light I would want to know.

That maintenance light is the oil change reminder, and is unrelated to the TPMS.  To reset it follow the video below:

I don't think the service light is for your tires. I would check the maintenance schedule in your owner's manual , or call the dealer to make sure you're up to date on regular maintenance. Have you done your transmission fluid lately? Axles? Coolant?

I just got the "maintenance required" light off by reseting it with the odometer button process. Thanks folks!! The manual does say it's an oil change reminder. It is time for an oil change which I'll do tomorrow. I can't see the TPMS light now either. A piece of electrical tape over it fixed that. Easy fix! LOL

Before you do something crazy with the wiring, try this first -

When did you last change your oil?
